However, they only represent 4.91% of the population that speaks native languages. Furthermore, this group also includes Indigenous Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact (PIACI), who are highly vulnerable to contact with populations outside their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statistics for the indigenous population are stark: only 5.51% have access to piped water, and 86.21% lack electricity. Illiteracy affects 19.41% of the population, with a higher prevalence among women than men.
