The water becomes muddy and contaminated, and many families only have that water for drinking or cooking. As a result, children face more illnesses and less access to nutritious food.<br>In 2025, Save the Children responded to the flood emergency in Loreto: 350 interculturally focused food kits and 350 safe drinking water kits. We also held community sessions to prevent violence and fostered safe spaces for children.<br>Today, more households have safe food and water and are better prepared for future emergencies. Floods can still occur.
